One of the things that I've noticed the most, is that credit cards are probably the biggest place where one can really loose their shirt, when it comes to saving money.

Today I've decided to get my finances in order. It's really hard to put a plan together if you don't know your current financial situation. So I thought that I would start with figuring out where all of my money sits, and what kind of payments I'm making on things.
My goal for this first activity is to find out if there isn't some ways I can cut costs. After I trim the fat, then I'll go back and figure out where I might be able to cut some more. The final object of this whole thing is to pay off all those credit cards and use that cash to start investing for my kids education. So I'm off to figure out where all my money is being spent.

Welcome to the blog. If you've made it here, then your in line to see my little experiment to living in Southern California, while trying to control my bills, and putting some cash away for those other big expenditures that happen in life.
Your probably asking yourself, "why are you doing this?" and "this is the same as the pfblog.com". Both of these questions can be answered together, so here it goes. I was an avid reader of http://pfblog.com, however the posting on that site has become rather sparse and really repeats itself over and over again. So I decided that I'll create my own blog, and create my own experiment to see if I can not only improve my overall financial health, but but to use some of those books that I've bought over the years and see if they are at all worth the paper they are printed on.
